Alexandre O. Philippe’s documentary Kim Novak’s Vertigo is listed for US DVD release on October 13, 2026. Kino Lorber’s product page offers a DVD pre-order and says it ships only to the US and Canada.
What the documentary is about
The film looks at Kim Novak beyond her best-known role in Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo. Dogwoof’s synopsis presents it as a portrait of the life and work behind the familiar Hollywood image, exploring the tension between public identity and private self. Kino Lorber describes an intimate account shaped by archival footage, personal reflections and glimpses of Novak’s life in Oregon.
Novak appears as herself, and Alexandre O. Philippe directs. Medianoche Productions identifies the film as a biography and documentary and lists Terri Piñon as its producer. The project premiered in September 2025, according to Medianoche Productions.

Digital platforms
Dogwoof lists Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube and Sky Store under “WATCH AT HOME.” These are distributor-linked destinations, not a guarantee that the film is currently available on every service or in every country. The listings cited here do not establish a consistent price or whether access is by rental, purchase or another model, so check the relevant platform for your region.
Why listings give different runtimes
Catalog entries do not agree on the film’s length: Kino Lorber lists 76 minutes, Apple TV lists 1 hour 17 minutes, and a Fargo Film Festival program gives 90 minutes. Those figures are tied to different listings, and the available information does not establish which reflects the final DVD edition. Kino Lorber’s 76-minute figure is the one attached to its DVD product listing, but it should not be treated as a definitive runtime for every edition.

Philippe on making the film
On the film-documentaire.fr title page, Philippe describes the process this way: “Working with Kim meant stepping into a space of radical honesty. Her voice — unfiltered, wise, funny, defiant — guides us through the attic of her life: old costumes, fire-scarred scripts, early traumas, and enduring Hollywood ghosts.”
