What SKIMS announced in November 2025
SKIMS said it raised $225 million at a $5 billion valuation. Goldman Sachs Alternatives led the round, with affiliated funds of BDT & MSD Partners also participating. The company described the financing as support for its next phase of growth. Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s announcement gives the deal terms and the company’s stated plans.
Where the company said it would invest
SKIMS said it planned to use the proceeds to expand physical retail and international operations, develop products, and grow apparel and activewear while continuing to invest in intimates and shapewear. At the time of the announcement, the company reported 18 owned stores in the United States and two franchise locations in Mexico. Those are the footprint figures reported in November 2025, not a current store count.
SKIMS was founded in 2019 by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede. The announcement identified Kardashian as co-founder and chief creative officer and Grede as co-founder and CEO. It described underwear, loungewear and shapewear as core categories, with products sold through SKIMS.com, permanent stores and select retailers. The release also identified NikeSKIMS as a partnership.

Forbes characterized the increase as about $200 million and attributed the vast majority of her fortune to her SKIMS stake. These are Forbes estimates, not audited personal financial statements. Forbes’ Kim Kardashian profile identifies SKIMS as worth $5 billion following the 2025 round.
The $5 billion figure is SKIMS’ valuation in the financing—not Kardashian’s net worth. A private-company valuation is an estimate of the company’s value in a transaction; it does not mean a founder owns the entire company or can convert that headline figure into cash. The announcement describes investment in SKIMS, while Forbes’ figure is an estimate of Kardashian’s personal wealth. The available figures do not establish that she sold shares or received the $225 million raised.

What the $1 billion sales figure means
In November 2025, SKIMS said it expected to exceed $1 billion in net sales for 2025. That was a company forecast made during the financing announcement, not a confirmed full-year result. Reuters reported the forecast in its coverage, republished by Investing.com, and Bloomberg also reported it. The sources cited here do not establish SKIMS’ actual 2025 net sales.

The financing indicates that investors backed SKIMS at a $5 billion valuation and that the company intended to pursue retail, international, product and category expansion. It does not by itself show that those plans succeeded, establish future sales, or prove that Kardashian received cash personally. Forbes’ $1.9 billion figure is its estimate after the round, not a direct measure of proceeds from it.
