Jasveen Sangha, dubbed the “Ketamine Queen” by prosecutors, pleaded guilty in September 2025 to five federal charges tied to ketamine distribution, including a count connected to Matthew Perry’s death. On April 8, 2026, a federal judge sentenced her to 180 months—15 years—in prison. The plea deal resolved Sangha’s case; the sentence was imposed later.

What was the plea deal?

On August 18, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California announced that Sangha had agreed to plead guilty to five federal counts. She entered the guilty plea in September 2025. The charges were one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of ketamine distribution, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. The DOJ announcement described the agreement; its later sentencing release confirms the plea and sentence.

What sentence did she receive?

On April 8, 2026, U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett sentenced Sangha to 180 months in federal prison. DOJ described the term as 15 years. This is the sentence imposed, distinct from the statutory maximum penalties listed when the plea agreement was announced.

What did Sangha admit about Matthew Perry?

According to the DOJ account of the plea agreement, Sangha worked with Erik Fleming to distribute ketamine to actor Matthew Perry. In October 2023, they sold 51 vials, which were provided to Perry’s live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. DOJ says Iwamasa repeatedly injected Perry, including at least three times on October 28, 2023, and that the ketamine caused Perry’s death.

DOJ also says that after learning of Perry’s death from news reports, Sangha and Fleming discussed distancing themselves from it over Signal. The plea announcement says Sangha enabled auto-delete settings and instructed Fleming: “Delete all our messages.” These details are DOJ’s account of the plea agreement.

What other conduct was included?

The plea also covered a separate 2019 ketamine sale. DOJ says Sangha admitted selling four vials to Cody McLaury in August 2019; McLaury died hours later from a drug overdose. Sangha also admitted using her North Hollywood residence to store, package, and distribute narcotics since at least June 2019.

Law enforcement searched the residence in March 2024. The August 2025 DOJ release reported 1.7 kilograms of pressed methamphetamine pills; the April 2026 release described thousands of pressed methamphetamine pills. Both releases also listed 79 vials of liquid ketamine, MDMA, counterfeit Xanax pills, powdered ketamine and cocaine, packaging or trafficking materials, and $5,723 in cash. The 2025 release additionally listed a gold money-counting machine, a scale, and a wireless signal and hidden-camera detector.

How did the possible penalties compare with the sentence?

When DOJ announced the plea agreement in August 2025, it listed statutory maximums of up to 20 years for maintaining a drug-involved premises, up to 10 years for each of the three distribution counts, and up to 15 years for the count involving death or serious bodily injury. These were potential statutory maximums, not a prediction or the sentence ultimately imposed. The court later sentenced Sangha to 15 years.

What is known about the co-defendants’ cases?

In its April 8, 2026 sentencing announcement, DOJ said co-defendants Erik Fleming and Kenneth Iwamasa were scheduled to be sentenced “in the coming months.” That release does not establish their eventual outcomes. The same DOJ announcement quoted prosecutors’ sentencing memorandum: “For years…Sangha operated a high-volume drug trafficking business out of her North Hollywood residence.” That was prosecutors’ argument, not a separate finding by the court.
