Kendrick Lamar’s most notable documented jewelry looks range from Martine Ali’s industrial silver pieces for the DAMN. era to a custom Tiffany & Co. diamond crown and a lowercase “a” necklace worn at Super Bowl LIX. They are snapshots of how jewelry can work as styling and as performance symbolism—not a verified inventory of everything Lamar owns, and not enough to establish a total collection value.
Three distinct looks, three different purposes
| Look | Era and maker | What is documented | Public meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Industrial silver jewelry | DAMN. era; designer Martine Ali | A “jewelry wardrobe” that included a heavy metal choker and chain bracelets; Ali’s designs are modular. | A distinctive styling vocabulary built around industrial-influenced silver. |
| Crown of thorns | Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers era; custom Tiffany & Co. commission | A titanium and pavé diamond crown with 50 thorns. | An artistic statement connected to faith, judgment and artists who came before Lamar. |
| Lowercase “a” necklace | Super Bowl LIX in 2025; designer attribution uncertain | A jewel-encrusted lowercase “a”; Forbes also reported two Rahaminov Diamonds pins on Lamar’s hat. | Forbes described the necklace as a likely reference to “a minor” in “Not Like Us.” |
Martine Ali’s industrial silver for the DAMN. era
New York-based designer Martine Ali created what she called a “jewelry wardrobe” for Lamar around the DAMN. album era. Vogue’s 2018 profile identifies a heavy metal choker and chain bracelets among the pieces and describes Ali’s work as industrial-influenced silver jewelry. Her modular designs let wearers attach or detach links and chains to alter a piece’s length. Vogue’s profile of Martine Ali describes Lamar as a steady client.
The modular construction is part of what distinguishes Ali’s work from generic chain styling: the wearer can change the configuration rather than simply choose a fixed length. The profile documents the pieces created for Lamar, but does not establish that every similar chain is one of Ali’s designs or that those specific items are currently available.
The Tiffany crown of thorns: custom commission and reported specifications
Lamar and longtime creative collaborator Dave Free approached Tiffany & Co.’s design team with the crown idea in 2021. Tiffany says the custom-made crown was crafted from titanium and pavé-set diamonds. It required more than 1,300 hours of work over 10 months, involving four artisans and 14 cast titanium components assembled into the finished piece.

- Thorns: 50, according to Tiffany.
- Diamonds: More than 8,000, totaling more than 137 carats, according to Tiffany.
- Weight: Approximately 200 grams, according to Tiffany.
- Craft: Tiffany says the diamonds were hand-set and the prongs hand-crafted.
These specifications come from Tiffany’s announcement of the crown, not an independent examination or valuation. The figures should be read as Tiffany reported them: “over” for the diamond and carat counts, and “approximately” for the weight.
Lamar wore the crown on the Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album artwork and at Glastonbury on June 26, 2022. Vogue reported that the design drew in part on Jean Schlumberger’s “Thorns” brooch and framed it as a nod to artists who came before Lamar. Free described the idea as “a godly representation of hood philosophies told from a digestible youthful lens.” At Glastonbury, Vogue reported, Lamar said, “Imperfection is beautiful,” and explained the reminder behind wearing the crown: “They judge you, they judge Christ.” Vogue’s account of the crown and Glastonbury performance records those statements in that context.

The lowercase “a” necklace at Super Bowl LIX
Forbes reported that Lamar wore a jewel-encrusted lowercase “a” necklace during the 2025 Super Bowl LIX halftime performance, alongside two Rahaminov Diamonds pins on his hat. Forbes interpreted the necklace as a likely reference to “a minor” in “Not Like Us”; that is an interpretation, not a confirmed explanation from Lamar. Forbes’ report on the Super Bowl jewelry says the necklace’s exact value and weight were unclear and describes Eliantte as a likely designer, not a definitively confirmed one.
That uncertainty matters: the available account supports identifying the look and discussing its likely lyrical reference, but not assigning the necklace a confirmed maker, weight or price.

What is known—and not known—about Lamar’s jewelry
These documented pieces show different roles for jewelry: Ali’s modular silver as personal styling, Tiffany’s crown as a crafted performance symbol, and the Super Bowl necklace as a possible visual reference to a lyric. They do not amount to a complete list of Lamar’s possessions. The cited reporting does not establish a collection-wide value, so price estimates for his entire jewelry collection should not be treated as verified facts.
