The original Story was not independently verified by ITV News’ report as reviewed here; the quotation is attributed to Osbourne through ITV’s account. The reports described the comments she received as being about her appearance and weight loss. Her response addressed cruelty, compassion and dehumanization without identifying a cause for her appearance.
Why was the response connected to the BRIT Awards?
The 2026 BRIT Awards were held at Manchester’s Co-op Live on 28 February. Ozzy Osbourne was posthumously honored with the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award, which Sharon Osbourne accepted in person, according to the official winners report. Kelly appeared at the ceremony with her mother.

The BRIT Awards’ announcement of Ozzy’s honor quoted committee chair and RCA Records co-president Stacey Tang calling him “a mighty force in modern music.” The announcement also gave his career sales at more than 100 million albums worldwide; that figure concerns Ozzy’s music career, not the online comments directed at Kelly.
