Which Constantine is it?
This is Francis Lawrence’s 2005 supernatural action, fantasy, and horror film, with Keanu Reeves playing John Constantine. The U.S. listing gives a 121-minute runtime and an R rating. DC identifies the movie as based on its DC Comics/Vertigo Hellblazer graphic novels; that makes it a comic-book adaptation, not a scene-for-scene transcription or definitive version of the comics. DC’s film page provides the official adaptation connection, while JustWatch’s U.S. page lists the runtime and rating.

Why the streaming headline is still circulating
The “20 years later” framing came from a December 23, 2025 entertainment-news headline about the film heading to HBO Max. That wording described the story at the time; it should not be read as the film’s exact age in 2026. Released in 2005, Constantine is now more than 20 years old. The later U.S. availability check dated September 11, 2026 is the more recent catalog snapshot cited here. IMDb’s syndication of the Collider article records the earlier headline and date.
