Katie Couric Media’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls are a no-bake snack made with peanut butter powder, applesauce and almond flour, then dipped in melted chocolate. Despite the “4-ingredient” headline, the official recipe card lists six ingredients when the flaky sea salt finish is included. Here’s the measured recipe and what is—and isn’t—known about its protein content.
What the recipe includes
Katie Couric Media published the recipe on March 13, 2025, as part of its “Is It As Good As It Looks?” video series. The card’s six listed items are peanut butter powder, unsweetened applesauce, almond flour, chocolate chips, coconut oil and flaky sea salt. The headline’s four-ingredient framing does not match the full card. Its introductory prose mentions almond butter, but the measured card calls for almond flour instead; the quantities below follow that card.
Ingredients
- 1¼ cups peanut butter powder
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tablespoons almond flour
- ⅔ cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- Flaky sea salt, for finishing
How to make the chocolate peanut butter balls
- Mix the peanut butter powder, applesauce and almond flour until combined.
- Add the coconut oil to the chocolate chips. Microwave in 15-second increments, stirring as needed, until melted.
- Form the mixture into tablespoon-size balls. Dip each in the melted chocolate and set it on a lined cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and freeze for at least one hour.
The recipe card does not state a total yield, so it does not establish how many balls or servings these quantities make.
How much protein is in a serving?
Katie Couric Media’s recipe page does not publish a nutrition panel or a protein-per-serving figure. EatingWell, in a March 19, 2025 article syndicated by Yahoo Lifestyle, reports 8 grams of protein per two-bite serving. That is a secondary publication’s estimate, not an official nutrition analysis from the recipe’s publisher; the KCM card also does not define a serving size.

Why the headline says four ingredients
The four-ingredient description is not a complete count of the official measured card: it lists six items, including the finishing salt. The card also differs from the introductory prose, which mentions almond butter rather than the almond flour used in the measured formula. For a version that follows KCM’s published quantities, use almond flour and include the chocolate coating and salt as listed.
