Why is Bear’s middle name Blaze?
Winslet told Ellen DeGeneres that Bear’s middle name referred to a house fire she and her husband survived. British Vogue reported her explanation on 18 March 2014: “Bear’s second name is Blaze because my husband and I met in a house fire basically.” She was referring to the 2011 fire at Richard Branson’s Necker Island home. Winslet also recalled that she had once nicknamed a friend Bear and associated that name with a comforting hug.
