What happened at the Windsor Castle state banquet?
King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted the banquet during Donald and Melania Trump’s UK state visit. The Royal Family said the evening event took place in St George’s Hall and was attended by members of the Royal Family. The Royal Family’s account of the banquet records the occasion.
The official Court Circular confirms that the Prince and Princess of Wales attended and lists Tiffany Trump and Michael Boulos among the invited White House and US delegation guests.
Who was Kate Middleton seated next to?
AOL reported that Michael Boulos entered the banquet procession with Kate and was seated beside her, while Tiffany sat several seats away. This is a media account of the seating, rather than an official published seating chart.

Why did reports differ about the procession?
Accounts did not describe the entrance in exactly the same way. AOL said Boulos entered the procession with Kate. ABC News reported that William and Kate walked together into the banquet ahead of Tiffany and Boulos. These descriptions concern the procession; they do not independently establish the reason for anyone’s place at the table.
Was Tiffany Trump snubbed?
“Snubbed” is an interpretation, not a confirmed account of royal intent. The Court Circular lists Tiffany as an invited guest, and no official source cited here says she was deliberately excluded or publishes a seating chart explaining the placements.

Tyla reported online speculation about the arrangement and quoted a counter-explanation: “Tiffany was not snubbed.” It also described royal processions as potentially shaped by seniority and the convention that a senior royal accompanies a person of the opposite sex. That context does not establish the specific protocol rationale for this banquet’s procession or seating.

In his official speech, Charles framed the dinner as a celebration of the US–UK relationship and welcomed the president and first lady to Windsor Castle: “It is with great pleasure that my wife and I welcome you to Windsor Castle, on this, your second State Visit to the United Kingdom.” The Royal Family published the speech on 17 September 2025.
