Melbourne-based content creator Blue Valentine estimates that she spent A$50,000 (about US$33,000) on roughly 250 tattoos over five years, according to a People profile published July 21, 2025. The gradual project was organized into themed sections, inspired by 1950s pin-up culture—not a single transformation or a medical procedure.

Valentine is a Melbourne-based content creator whose extensive tattoo collection and the process behind it were profiled by People in 2025. The reported count—about 250—is her estimate, not an independently verified tally.

How did she organize the designs?
Rather than treating the tattoos as unrelated pieces, Valentine grouped body sections around themes. She described Diner, Military, Sailor, Circus, Garage, Western, and Vintage sections, drawing on imagery associated with 1950s pin-up culture.

She said she sketched ideas on an iPad and shared a moodboard with tattoo artists. The People profile names Ben Tuckey, Ben Koopman, and Allegra Maeva among the artists she had worked with. Valentine explained her preference for themed work: “I knew I wanted to do themes straight away. I like the organization of it.”
What was her tattoo schedule?
Valentine described full-day appointments lasting six to seven hours. While completing a sleeve or themed section, she said she booked sessions weekly or fortnightly, then took a break to plan the next section. The five-year timeline therefore reflects a project built in stages rather than continuous tattooing.

What has she said about getting tattooed and living with the result?
Valentine said she had wanted tattoos for a long time but initially worried about pain because she disliked ordinary needles and blood draws. After leaving the studio, she said, “I got over it and booked in my first sleeve about a week later.”
She has also described both greater confidence and unwelcome attention or judgment in everyday interactions. Those are her personal experiences; they do not establish how other people with extensive tattoos will be treated or feel.
