Kate Middleton received her first COVID-19 vaccine dose at London’s Science Museum on Friday, 28 May 2021. The then Duchess of Cambridge announced it the following day and thanked those involved in the vaccination rollout. Her statement did not identify the vaccine brand.
When and where did Kate Middleton get vaccinated?
She received her first COVID-19 vaccine dose at the Science Museum in London on Friday, 28 May 2021. Contemporary reports identified it as her first dose, in keeping with her own announcement. ITV News reported the event on 29 May 2021; The Irish Times also covered it that day.
What did she say about the vaccination?
On 29 May, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s account shared a photograph of the vaccination alongside her message. ITV quoted her statement: “Yesterday I received my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at London’s Science Museum. I’m hugely grateful to everyone who is playing a part in the rollout – thank you for everything you are doing.”
Which COVID-19 vaccine did she receive?
The announcement did not name the vaccine, and contemporary reporting did not establish its brand. The National noted that she made no mention of which vaccine she received. It would therefore be inaccurate to attribute a manufacturer to her dose based on the location, date, or photograph.
