“Kamala Harris Is Campaigning in Fortnite” referred to Freedom Town, USA, a Fortnite Creative island promoted by the Harris-Walz campaign during the final stretch of the 2024 presidential election. Its island code was 7331-5536-6547. Fortnite.GG currently lists the island as disabled and not playable.
What was Freedom Town, USA?
Freedom Town, USA was a campaign-themed island in Fortnite Creative, the game’s user-created island mode. The island listing names clickcreates as its creator and describes the experience as: “Team up with friends and help Kamala Harris build a brighter future for our city.” The listing invites players to help build a city, with clean energy, landmarks, resource gathering and challenges among its themes.
Engadget’s October 29, 2024 report described activities including racing and parkour, alongside campaign signs and decorations. That makes the island distinct from Fortnite’s familiar combat-focused matches: its reported activities centered on exploration and challenges rather than the usual battle format.
How to find the island—and its current status
The island code reported at launch was 7331-5536-6547. Fortnite.GG lists October 21, 2024 as the island’s release date; GameSpot reported the campaign’s launch on October 29. Those dates mark different things: the listing’s release date and the news report’s publication of the campaign launch.
