When was Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 announced?
Shueisha confirmed a second season on August 21, 2024, initially saying it would air in 2025. A December 25, 2024 update narrowed the window to July 2025. Where can you watch Season 2?
In its June 18, 2025 announcement, the official anime site said: “Season 2 will start streaming on Crunchyroll and X from July 19.” It also said the season would be available on other platforms. That announcement does not establish that every service carried the show in every country. The official site now lists Seasons 1 and 2 as streaming across video services and notes that start times can vary by platform. What is Season 2 about?
The official synopsis highlights Kafka’s meeting with Gen Narumi, leader of the First Division, as Kafka tries to demonstrate his strength. Kaiju No. 9 remains a major threat. Official Season 2 synopsis.

What comes after Season 2?
On December 23, 2025, Shueisha reported that a concluding anime installment and the short anime Narumi’s Weekdays were in production. The notice did not give a release date for either project, so their timing remains unannounced in that source. Shueisha’s December 2025 report.

Can you buy Season 2 on Blu-ray?
The official anime site lists Season 2 home-video Volumes 5 through 8 and retailer-benefit information. That confirms a physical release listing, but not current Amazon stock, disc region, language features, or a particular edition’s contents. The anime is based on Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, serialized by Shueisha on Shonen Jump+. Shueisha’s later news page identifies Volume 16 as the latest volume at the time of that page.
