There is no verified public figure showing that Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki or Kaley Cuoco is still earning millions of dollars a year from The Big Bang Theory. Reports document lucrative contracts while the series was being made and substantial syndication revenue for the studio, but neither establishes what the three actors receive now.
What the reported $1 million-per-episode deal actually covered
In August 2014, CBS News reported that Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco had agreed to three-year contracts with Warner Bros. Television. Their salaries were reported to rise from $350,000 to about $1 million per episode, alongside an increased share of the show’s backend. CBS attributed the salary figure to Deadline.
Those were reported contract terms for work on the series at that time. They do not show what the actors earn from reruns or streaming today, and the reported episode salary should not be mistaken for a current annual payment.
What the show’s syndication success tells us—and what it doesn’t
By the time the series ended in 2019, it had 279 episodes. That sizable library helped make the show valuable for repeat distribution. The Los Angeles Times reported that syndication revenue had generated more than $1 billion for Warner Bros. Television. That was reported studio revenue, not a disclosure of actor residuals or a pool divided equally among the cast.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s 2025 Form 10-K describes licensing television programs across off-network cable, premium pay, syndication, streaming and international markets. It says distribution deals may use fixed license fees or royalty-based arrangements. These disclosures explain how television content can earn money after its original broadcast, but they do not identify current Big Bang Theory deals or the terms of any individual performer’s compensation. Why studio revenue cannot establish the actors’ current income
Several different kinds of money are easy to conflate:
Rank #2

- the big bang theory complete series 4k
- the big bang theory complete series blu ray
- Salary: payment for acting work under a contract, such as the reported per-episode deal negotiated in 2014.
- Backend participation: a contractual share of certain revenues or profits. The 2014 report said the three actors received an increased share, but did not disclose the current value of that participation.
- Residuals: payments that may be due when a performance is reused or distributed under applicable agreements. The amount depends on the relevant terms and circumstances.
- Licensing revenue: money earned by a studio for making a program available to distributors or platforms. The reported billion-dollar syndication figure concerns Warner Bros. Television, not the actors’ personal receipts.
A studio’s earnings, a performer’s contractual participation and residual payments are not interchangeable figures. Without person-specific payment information, the studio total cannot be converted into a reliable current estimate for Parsons, Galecki or Cuoco.
Does an actor’s residual anecdote answer the question?
No. In 2025, CinemaBlend reported that guest actor DJ Qualls discussed receiving residuals for his appearance as Toby Loobenfeld. His experience illustrates that an actor may receive payments connected with later use of an episode, but it does not establish the amounts or contractual terms for the three leads. What can be said with confidence
- The three stars were reported to have negotiated salaries of about $1 million per episode and a larger backend share in 2014.
- The series had 279 episodes when it concluded, and the Los Angeles Times reported more than $1 billion in syndication revenue for Warner Bros. Television by 2019.
- Warner Bros. Discovery’s corporate filing confirms that licensing across multiple markets is a general part of its television business, but does not reveal the actors’ current compensation.
- No verified current annual residual or other payment total for Parsons, Galecki or Cuoco is established by these disclosures.
So the headline claim that all three are “still making millions” from the show is unconfirmed. They may receive payments under their contracts or applicable reuse arrangements, but the available figures do not prove how much they receive now.
