Kaguya-sama: Love Is War has returned with Stairway to Adulthood, a two-episode TV anime special—not a fourth season. Its Japanese broadcast began on December 31, 2025. Separately, a new concluding theatrical film is in production, but the official announcements cited here give no release date.
What is Stairway to Adulthood?
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – Stairway to Adulthood (かぐや様は告らせたい 大人への階段) is a TV anime special made up of two episodes. Aniplex describes Kaguya looking through an album and revisiting memories of Miyuki and their friends from Shuchiin Academy after she and Miyuki have begun dating. A-1 Pictures produced the special, directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama. The listed cast includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki, Konomi Kohara as Chika, Ryota Suzuki as Yu, Miyu Tomita as Miko, and Yumiri Hanamori as Ai. Aniplex’s official series page identifies it as a special rather than a new numbered season.
Where and when can you watch it?
The dates announced by Aniplex are for Japan; they do not confirm distribution in other countries. Its schedule lists Japanese TV broadcast from December 31, 2025, and Prime Video Japan from January 1, 2026. Additional Japanese transactional services were scheduled to begin in February and March 2026. Aniplex cautions that broadcast and distribution schedules may change. Check the service available in your region for current access rather than assuming the Japanese listing applies internationally.
Can you buy the special on Blu-ray or DVD?
The Japanese Blu-ray and DVD were released on June 24, 2026. Aniplex lists the limited-edition Blu-ray at ¥8,580 including tax and the matching limited DVD at ¥7,480. These are Japanese catalog prices, not confirmation of current stock or overseas pricing.

Is the new Kaguya-sama movie season 4?
No. The two-episode special is the TV anime return; the separate project announced by Aniplex and Shueisha is a new theatrical film. Aniplex announced on December 31, 2025 that production had begun on a concluding project based on a completely new original concept by Aka Akasaka. On January 7, 2026, Shueisha described it as a completely new theatrical film. Neither cited announcement gives a release date. Read the notices from Aniplex and Shueisha.

Aniplex of America’s catalog lists Blu-rays for earlier installments, including Season 2 and Ultra Romantic Season 3, as well as figures for Ai Hayasaka, Chika Fujiwara, and Kaguya Shinomiya. That catalog is useful for fans looking for earlier releases or character collectibles, but it does not confirm an international release of Stairway to Adulthood.
