Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith shared a playful moment in the Coachella crowd in Indio, California, during the festival’s 2024 weekend: Smith danced with Bieber, and Bieber kissed Smith on the cheek. The encounter was captured in a video described by Entertainment Tonight in a report published April 15, 2024. It was separate from Bieber’s surprise appearance during Tems’ set.
What happened when Bieber and Smith met at Coachella?
Entertainment Tonight reported that the video was captured by the account @daydayred_. In the clip, Smith grabs Bieber around the waist and dances with him, then puts an arm around him. Bieber turns and kisses Smith’s cheek.
ET places the encounter “over the weekend” at Coachella in Indio, California. Its April 15 report does not give the exact day or time, so a more precise timestamp is not established by that account.
Why the moment was described as a reunion
ET describes Smith and Bieber as former childhood friends and collaborators. Their shared work includes “Never Say Never”: ET says the song served as the theme for Smith’s film The Karate Kid and later became the title track of Bieber’s documentary concert film Never Say Never.

Was Jaden Smith onstage with Bieber?
The reported reunion was a crowd moment, not a joint stage performance. Bieber’s separate Coachella appearance came during Tems’ set, when he sang “Essence,” according to ET. YouTube’s official Weekend 1 retrospective also lists Bieber among the festival’s surprise guests, but does not establish that Smith joined him onstage.
How to watch Coachella’s official coverage
YouTube’s April 4, 2024 livestream guide said the stream would begin April 12 and outlined six livestream stages, multiview, and official festival viewing through YouTube. In its April 18 retrospective, YouTube said more than 80 Weekend 1 performances were available on demand through Coachella’s official channel. Those materials document the festival’s viewing options; they do not independently authenticate the specific crowd video of Bieber and Smith.
