Julia Fox wore a blood-marked pink suit inspired by Jacqueline Kennedy’s clothing on the day of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination to a New York Halloween party on October 30, 2025. Fox described the look as a statement about trauma, power and femininity; criticism included a rebuke from JFK’s grandson Jack Schlossberg. Her explanation expresses her own intent, not a consensus about how the outfit was received.
What Julia Fox wore to the Halloween party
Fox attended The Cursed Amulet Halloween party in New York on October 30, 2025, in a pink suit resembling the one Jacqueline Kennedy wore on November 22, 1963, the day her husband, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated. Reports described blood-like red markings on the suit, along with a pillbox hat, white gloves, a black handbag and a short dark wig. Fox News reported the outfit and Fox’s explanation.
How Fox explained the look
In an Instagram caption reported October 31, Fox wrote: “I’m dressed as Jackie Kennedy in the pink suit. Not as a costume, but as a statement.” She connected the look to trauma, power, femininity, protest and mourning, and to Kennedy’s decision not to change out of her blood-stained clothes after the assassination. Fox also invoked the line, “I want them to see what they’ve done.” These are Fox’s stated interpretations of the look and the historical episode.
What the historical record says about Kennedy’s clothes and the quoted line
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum’s oral-history transcript records former Air Force One flight attendant Helen Lear Davis recalling blood on Kennedy’s clothing, stocking, wrist and hand. Davis did not present the famous sentence as a contemporaneous transcript of Kennedy’s words. She recalled: “She’s supposed to have said to someone, ‘I want them to see what they’ve done.’” The qualification matters: this is Davis’s later oral-history recollection of what Kennedy was supposed to have said, not a verified direct transcript. Who criticized Fox’s outfit?
Coverage described the look as drawing criticism. One specifically identified critic was Jack Schlossberg, Kennedy’s grandson. The Guardian reported that he criticized the outfit on social media and called it “disgusting.” That is an attributed response from one named critic, not evidence that all viewers—or a measurable majority—shared his view.
