Robinson attended the 2025 Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse on Tuesday, 4 November, with her husband, Cameron Merchant. PerthNow reported that she wore a strapless, horizontally striped pink-and-green dress by Australian label Pasduchas. Robinson said the label gifted the dress, had it made for her and sent it to Melbourne. She had not tried it on before the event, according to PerthNow and Nine/9Now.
Nine/9Now also reported that Robinson was a judge at the event’s Fashions on the Field.
Why Robinson said the dress was too small
The day after the Cup, Robinson acknowledged that the dress was too small. As quoted by PerthNow, she said: “I didn’t wear that dress to look smaller. I wore it because I loved it. Because fashion should be about joy and fun.” She also said: “At the end of the day, it’s just a dress.”

What she said to people criticising her
Robinson described receiving critical comments and lengthy direct messages about her appearance and outfit. She objected to strangers treating body criticism as helpful fashion guidance. Nine/9Now quoted her saying: “Women are not public property for nasty critique. We don’t need your ‘stylist advice’ disguised as insults.”
