The film paired a special compilation of the Shibuya Incident with the first two episodes of Season 3’s “Culling Game Part 1,” shown ahead of the season’s January 2026 streaming debut, according to GKIDS.
What was released in theaters on December 5?
GKIDS announced a North American theatrical rollout beginning December 5, 2025, for JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution. The feature brought together a special edit of the Shibuya Incident and the opening two episodes of “Culling Game Part 1,” the first part of Season 3. It was therefore a compilation and advance preview, not the complete third season on the big screen. GKIDS said the film would screen in both original Japanese and English-dubbed versions (GKIDS release details).

How did the theatrical screening relate to Season 3?
The Culling Game episodes in the film were presented before their announced January 2026 streaming debut. Crunchyroll News later reported that Season 3 premiered on January 8, 2026 (Crunchyroll News). The film offered those first two episodes early in theaters alongside the Shibuya recap; it did not replace the season’s later broadcast or streaming release.
Why do some release dates differ?
The dates refer to different territories and screenings. Japan’s official announcement set the domestic theatrical release for November 7, 2025, describing the film as a special edit with a world-first preview of Season 3 episodes before television broadcast (official Japanese announcement). GKIDS’ December 5 date referred to the North American rollout. GKIDS also listed December 3 early-access fan-event screenings and a one-night IMAX event on its film page; those were special screenings, not a change to the general North American rollout date (GKIDS film page).
