The Zenin clan massacre in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 4 has been compared to the Crazy 88 fight in Kill Bill: Volume 1. That comparison comes from entertainment coverage—not a confirmed statement of influence from the anime’s creators—and “the bloodiest anime episode of the 2020s” is a reaction, not an established ranking.
Which Jujutsu Kaisen scene is being compared to Kill Bill?
The comparison concerns the Zenin clan massacre in Episode 4 of Season 3, officially titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1. In February 2026, MeriStation compared the anime sequence with the Crazy 88 fight in Kill Bill: Volume 1. MeriStation’s coverage frames it as a visual parallel, not as a confirmed homage.

What makes the Crazy 88 comparison work?
Both scenes invite comparison through their staging of a central fighter facing a crowd of opponents, the choreography of successive clashes, and their emphatic presentation of violence. That resemblance can be discussed as an interpretation of what viewers see; it does not establish that the anime deliberately references Tarantino’s film.
The available coverage does not attribute the comparison to MAPPA, Gege Akutami, or another member of the production. No creator or production representative is quoted confirming an intentional reference. It is therefore more accurate to say the scenes have been compared than to say the anime “pays respect” to Kill Bill as a confirmed creative choice.

Is this the bloodiest anime episode of the 2020s?
There is no substantiated cross-anime ranking establishing Episode 4 as the decade’s bloodiest. The sources reviewed provide no defined measurement, comparative study, or attributable production claim behind that superlative. It works as subjective headline language for the scene’s graphic violence, not as a verifiable fact.
