VIZ describes the premise this way: “68 years after the Culling Game, siblings Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu are pulled into a galactic conflict when an alien race arrives on Earth.” That is VIZ’s announcement copy, not a quote from Akutami.
Is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo a sequel?
It is a later story in the same setting: VIZ places it 68 years after the Culling Game and centers the premise on Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu. That establishes a connection to the original series, while the published description does not explain further how its characters or events connect to the earlier story.

Has the manga ended?
The Japanese publication reached its final volume in 2026. The official Shonen Jump Channel’s April 27, 2026 Jump Press description said the third and final volume was scheduled to release in Japan on May 1, 2026, and noted the final chapter and bonus material. The upcoming English volume is therefore a translation and print-release milestone, not the start of a new serialization.
When does the English volume come out?
VIZ lists Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Vol. 1 for Spring 2027. Its June 16, 2026 announcement gives a seasonal window, not a specific on-sale day, and links to Barnes & Noble for preorder. Check the retailer listing for current ordering and availability details.

Akutami’s author comment on the original Jujutsu Kaisen finale, published through Shueisha’s Manga Plus, reads: “It’s the final chapter! Thank you for all your support! I’ll do my best to prepare for the next challenge!” The comment refers to the original series finale, not to Modulo’s premise or release schedule.

How does Modulo relate to the original manga?
The original Jujutsu Kaisen manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018 and concluded in September 2024. Universal Studios Japan reported a milestone of 100 million cumulative copies for the original manga franchise in 2025; that figure is not a sales total for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
