The anime and manga do not cover the same point in Yuji’s story, so the sections below identify which stage each detail concerns.
What Yuji can do
Exceptional physical ability
Yuji is introduced as a high-school student with extraordinary physical ability. That is the clearest baseline for his strength in the official anime material covered here; it does not, by itself, establish a complete list of his combat skills or explain every later power.

Surviving Sukuna’s poison
The official first-season character profile says Yuji can withstand the deadly poison of Ryomen Sukuna. It describes him as a talent not seen for a thousand years. That wording is the profile’s description of Yuji’s rarity, not a measured statistic or a claim that the profile catalogs all of his abilities.
Black Flash
Yuji uses Black Flash in the anime. The official synopsis for episode 45 names Yuji, Mahito, and Todo as each landing the technique in their fight, and says each reaches 120 percent of their potential. An official anime news page also describes Yuji continuing to fight through despair in Shibuya and using Black Flash. These sources establish his use of the technique, but do not provide a full account of its mechanics or every condition for performing it.

Yuji’s story, from the cursed object to the final battle
The night he meets Megumi
The official first-episode synopsis introduces Yuji as a high-school student who meets Megumi Fushiguro on the night Yuji’s grandfather dies. A cursed object in Yuji’s possession is unsealed, setting the story’s central danger in motion.
Taking on a mission
After Yuji becomes Sukuna’s host by consuming one of Sukuna’s fingers, the official first-season profile frames his unusual ability to withstand Sukuna’s poison as the reason he can fill that role. The profile says Yuji accepts it as his mission and enters the fight against curses to prevent what it calls a “wrong” death. That phrase reflects the profile’s English wording; it should not be treated as a verified literal translation from Japanese.

The Shibuya Incident and the execution order
A later official character profile places Yuji as a first-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High and describes a major change in his legal status: after Gojo is sealed during the Shibuya Incident, Yuji’s reprieve from execution is revoked and Yuta Okkotsu is appointed as his executioner. This is context for the middle of the story, not a statement that Yuji is executed.
The final manga confrontation (manga spoiler)
VIZ’s synopsis for the final volume describes Yuji attacking the seam between Sukuna’s soul and Fushiguro’s in an attempt to separate them. That is the scope of the publisher’s summary: it frames Yuji’s aim in the confrontation, but does not, by itself, recount every event or outcome in the ending. VIZ lists Volume 30 as the final volume, with an English-language release date of May 12, 2026.

What these details do—and do not—establish
The official anime material establishes Yuji’s extraordinary physical ability, his capacity to withstand Sukuna’s deadly poison, and his use of Black Flash. The final-volume synopsis adds the goal of his late-manga fight with Sukuna. These points explain the core of Yuji’s role, but they are not a complete inventory of his manga-era techniques, their acquisition, or their limits. In particular, the cited material does not establish a full history of an innate technique or domain expansion.
