Chapter 260 ends on a visual cliffhanger that strongly suggests Gojo Satoru, but the appearance alone does not confirm that he is alive or has been resurrected.
What Chapter 260 actually confirms
The chapter’s ending is designed to make readers wonder whether Gojo has returned. But a suggestive image is not the same as an explicit confirmation: Chapter 260 alone does not establish that the figure is Gojo or that Gojo is back to life. Treat “the chapter teases an apparent return” as distinct from “Gojo has returned.”
That distinction matters because fan theories and spoiler discussions can turn a cliffhanger into a definitive claim before the story confirms it. The official chapter listings identify the installment and its place in the series, but their accessible text does not provide the panel dialogue needed to support a more detailed account of the scene.
Where Chapter 260 fits in the story
Chapter 260 is part of the Shinjuku Showdown sequence. VIZ places it after Chapter 259 and before Chapter 261, and lists its English release date as May 26, 2024. VIZ’s official Chapter 260 listing confirms the installment and its sequence.

The official Japanese Shonen Jump+ listing gives the title as 「人外魔境新宿決戦㉜」 and credits Gege Akutami. The page displays January 28, 2025; that is the date shown on the platform, not necessarily the chapter’s original Japanese magazine publication date. Shonen Jump+’s Chapter 260 listing provides those Japanese listing details.
How to read the cliffhanger
- What it suggests: The image is meant to evoke Gojo and create the possibility of his return.
- What it does not prove by itself: That the figure is Gojo, or that he has been resurrected.
- What to avoid: Presenting a fan inference or a spoiler-leak interpretation as confirmed canon based only on Chapter 260.
So, if you are asking who the figure is at the end, the careful answer is that the chapter presents a Gojo-like figure as a cliffhanger. The appearance is a strong tease, not a standalone confirmation.
