On The View, Joy Behar asked Queen Latifah how her grandmother had taken the news that The Equalizer was ending—and inadvertently let her grandmother know it had already happened. Latifah said she had not told her, then laughed: “Sorry, Nana, I couldn’t tell you!”
What happened on The View
During a September 9, 2025 appearance, Behar asked Latifah about her grandmother’s response to The Equalizer coming to an end. AOL’s account described the 97-year-old as a devoted fan. Latifah paused and said she had not told her grandmother because she did not know how to break the news.
Behar apologized—“Oh, I’m sorry”—and later tried to take back the spoiler with a joke: “It’s still on the air, Nana!” The exchange was presented as playful embarrassment, not a serious disagreement. The quoted remarks are from AOL’s report; an official ABC transcript or segment is not cited here.
When did The Equalizer end?
The Equalizer ended after five seasons. CBS’s official series page lists season five, with episode 18, “Decisions,” dated May 4, 2025. AOL reported that the show ended in May, several months before Behar and Latifah’s September conversation.
