Jon Batiste announced The Big Money Tour: Jon Batiste Plays America on May 15, 2025. The published itinerary lists 31 performances from August 27 through October 31, 2025; the tour is now a historical run, not an upcoming ticket opportunity.
When did the Big Money Tour start?
The itinerary began August 27, 2025, at The Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri, and ended October 31 at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. Universal Music Canada’s published list contains 31 dated performances across more than 30 U.S. venues; repeat nights at some venues mean the performance count is not a count of distinct venues. Universal Music Canada’s August 22, 2025 release lists the dates.

What was the tour about?
The tour was tied to BIG MONEY, Batiste’s ninth studio album, released August 22, 2025, according to Universal Music Canada. The announcement described a multi-act musical journey through Batiste’s roots and evolution, mixing his catalog with new material performed live for the first time. Batiste called each show “both an origin story and a manifesto,” in the Fox Theatre announcement.

The format was intended to leave room for improvisation rather than reproduce a fixed set identically each night. “I’m always going to find a space in the show where there’s improv,” Batiste told The Associated Press. AP also reported that he saw live performances as a way to introduce unreleased songs, let them develop through audience connection, and potentially record them later; that stated aim does not establish what any particular audience heard.
