The vehicle was one of 10 Wayne Enterprises Tumbler replicas, not an original movie prop, and there is no current evidence that Burrow owns one.
Joe Burrow did announce a $2.99 million Batmobile purchase—but he later canceled it. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback revealed the deal on HBO’s Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North on December 4, 2024. The vehicle was one of only 10 officially licensed Wayne Enterprises Tumbler replicas, modeled on the armored Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.
That is not the end of the story. After Burrow’s Cincinnati-area home was burglarized in December 2024, he later said in Netflix’s Quarterback that he did not end up getting the Tumbler. ESPN’s later reporting described the purchase as canceled. Unless a newer authoritative report says Burrow reversed that decision, it is inaccurate to describe him as the current owner of a $3 million Batmobile.
What Joe Burrow originally announced
During the December 4, 2024 episode of Hard Knocks, Burrow told Bengals wide receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase that he had bought a Batmobile. The reported price was $2.99 million, matching the manufacturer’s listed price for Wayne Enterprises’ full-size Tumbler replica.

The wording in the original television conversation made the purchase sound complete. However, later reporting leaves open the possibility that Burrow had placed a deposit or otherwise committed to the vehicle before canceling the transaction. The available evidence confirms the announcement and the subsequent cancellation; it does not establish that he took delivery or retained ownership.
The burglary changed the story
In December 2024, while the Bengals were playing the Dallas Cowboys on the road, Burrow’s Cincinnati-area home was burglarized. Burrow said at the time that the experience violated his privacy and that he did not want to discuss many of the details publicly.
The burglary matters because it was later connected to the Batmobile decision. In Netflix’s Quarterback, Burrow explained that he canceled the purchase because he had other matters to deal with after the break-in. ESPN reported that development in July 2025.
There is no need to publish additional information about Burrow’s residence, security arrangements, personal relationships, or the specific contents of the incident. The relevant point is simply that the privacy violation preceded his decision to abandon the purchase.

What kind of Batmobile was it?
Burrow was not buying an original movie prop. The vehicle was a Wayne Enterprises Tumbler: a full-size, functional replica of the heavily armored Batmobile used in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises.
Wayne Enterprises says the replica was officially sanctioned by Warner Bros. and limited to a production run of 10 vehicles. The company’s listed specifications include:
- Engine: 6.2-liter LS3
- Output: 525 horsepower
- Transmission: GM 4L85E with paddle shifting
- Weight: approximately 5,511 pounds
- Construction: tubular aeronautical-steel frame with Kevlar, carbon-fiber, sheet-metal, and fiberglass components
- Configuration: two seats
- Braking: four-wheel power disc brakes
- Exterior: black finish
- Electronics: digital performance dashboard and GPS systems
- Movie-inspired equipment: a smoke-screen delivery system, imitation gun turrets, and a jet-engine simulation
Those figures come from the manufacturer and should be treated as advertised specifications, not as the results of an independent road test. The replica’s jet-engine effect is simulated and does not produce flames.
Could Burrow legally drive it on public roads?
Not based on the available product information. The Wayne Enterprises Tumbler is described as fully functional, but coverage of the vehicle has also characterized it as not street legal. Wayne Enterprises presents it as an invitation-only collector vehicle rather than as a conventional production automobile.

- AUTHENTIC REPLICA: Die-cast metal 1:43 scale model of the 1953 Cadillac Series 62, featuring detailed exterior finish and classic vintage styling.
- FUNCTIONAL FEATURES : Working doors that open and close , plus pull-back action mechanism for interactive play.
- QUALITY CONSTRUCTION : Built with die-cast metal body , rubber tires, and precise plastic components for durability and authentic look.
- PERFECT SIZE : Measures 5 inches in length , making it ideal for display or play while maintaining impressive detail.
- REALISTIC DETAILS : Features authentic chrome trim accents, detailed interior, and period-correct wheel designs true to the original 1953 Cadillac.
That distinction is important. “Functional” means the replica has a working powertrain and systems; it does not mean that it meets ordinary road-registration, safety, emissions, lighting, or equipment requirements in every jurisdiction. Nothing in the reviewed evidence supports the idea that Burrow could use the Tumbler as a daily driver, take it to Bengals games, or legally operate it on public roads without meeting local requirements.
Why reports of the purchase and cancellation can both be true
The apparent contradiction is mostly a matter of timing:
- December 4, 2024: Burrow said on Hard Knocks that he had bought the Batmobile.
- December 2024: His Cincinnati-area home was burglarized while he was away for a road game.
- July 2025: ESPN reported that Burrow later said on Quarterback that he canceled the purchase after the burglary.
A buyer can announce a purchase, place a deposit, or enter into an arrangement and later cancel before delivery. The manufacturer’s product page confirms that a real, commercially offered Tumbler existed at the stated price, while the later ESPN report controls the current ownership wording.
The Batmobile fans can actually buy
A $2.99 million, invitation-only full-size replica is outside the normal collector market. For a more attainable version of the same movie design, the LEGO DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler 76240 is a 2,049-piece adult build-and-display model based on the Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy.

The set includes Batman and Joker minifigures, an information plaque, and a display stand. LEGO lists the set as retired, so availability and pricing can vary, particularly when it is sold by third-party retailers. It is a merchandise alternative—not evidence that Burrow owns or endorses the LEGO model.
Where the documentary footage fits in
The original Batmobile disclosure appeared in HBO’s Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North. The later account of the canceled purchase appeared in Netflix’s Quarterback, which follows NFL quarterbacks and includes Burrow’s storyline. Netflix’s official promotional material confirms the documentary context involving Burrow’s Batmobile comment and the attempted break-in.

Joe Burrow did not simply “drop $3 million on a Batmobile” and remain its confirmed owner. He announced in December 2024 that he had bought a $2.99 million Wayne Enterprises Tumbler, one of 10 officially licensed replicas. After his home was burglarized later that month, he canceled the purchase, according to the subsequent account reported by ESPN in July 2025.
