Rolling Stone Canada reported that Baez posted the performance on Instagram on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Rolling Stone Canada’s July 28, 2024 report and The Independent’s July 29, 2024 report both connected the lyric change to her support for Harris during the 2024 election.
What Baez’s reported caption said
The two reports attributed this caption to Baez’s post: “Times are a-changin’ — Let’s crown thy good with sisterhood,” followed by an appeal to “Register to vote at vote.org or headcount.org and VOTE BLUE!” The caption framed the performance as a get-out-the-vote message.
#1 Best Overall
The political appeal was made in the context of the 2024 U.S. election; it should not be read as a current endorsement. The cited reports do not establish whether the Instagram post remains available today.
