Why Bruce Almighty is not the current leader here
Bruce Almighty remains a major Carrey hit, but its reported $484,468,608 worldwide total is $5,147,014 below Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The newer film’s total is $489,615,622, and The Numbers lists Carrey in two roles. The ranking therefore reflects the available figures, not the original framing of Bruce Almighty as the destination of his box-office story.
The Numbers breaks Bruce Almighty’s worldwide total into $242,704,995 domestic and $241,763,613 international. It lists the film’s release date as May 23, 2003, its rating as PG-13, its running time as 102 minutes, and its opening weekend at $67,953,330. Those release details provide context but do not change the worldwide ranking.

Which Grinch movie counts?
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) is the live-action film starring Carrey, with a reported worldwide gross of $350,585,872. It is distinct from Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch (2018), the animated film whose reported gross is $515,243,377. The cited 2018 title record does not establish a Carrey acting credit, so that larger figure cannot be included in a Carrey ranking on the evidence available here.
Where the Ace Ventura films fit
The two Ace Ventura films are well below the later top entries in this comparison.
