Jey Uso was reportedly placed in concussion protocol after a chair struck him during WWE’s Wrestlepalooza on September 20, 2025. The report was attributed to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline and relayed by Cageside Seats the next day; WWE had not commented on Uso’s injury situation when that article was published. The report does not confirm a concussion diagnosis.

What reportedly happened to Jey Uso?

Cageside Seats reported on September 21, 2025, that Jey and Jimmy Uso faced Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a tag-team match at Wrestlepalooza. According to the outlet’s account, Jey hit Breakker with a chair, which rebounded and struck Jey, splitting his head open. The report said Jey finished the match.

Cageside Seats attributed the concussion-protocol information to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline. It quoted him saying: “Jey busted himself open, he hit Bron with the chair and it bounced off Bron’s back and split him six ways from Sunday. He’s in concussion protocol, which is a requirement after any injury like this.” The vivid phrase in that quote describes the reported injury; it is not a medical finding.

Was a concussion diagnosis confirmed?

No. Being reported as in concussion protocol is not the same as a confirmed concussion diagnosis. Cageside Seats said WWE had not commented on the injury situation at the time of publication. The sources available for this report do not establish whether Uso was later diagnosed with a concussion, when he was cleared, or when he returned to the ring.

What is known about WWE’s concussion assessment process?

In a WWE interview published circa 2013, WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann described symptom assessment, ImPACT testing and exertion testing as part of concussion management and evaluating readiness to return to the ring. Amann specifically cautioned that ImPACT testing alone does not diagnose a concussion: “It does not diagnose a concussion.” This is a historical, general explanation—not confirmation of the procedure used for Uso in 2025.

When and where was Wrestlepalooza?

WWE’s event page lists the 2025 Wrestlepalooza as taking place September 20, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. WWE described it as the first-ever Wrestlepalooza in an August 20 announcement. The original announcement said John Cena would headline; a later WWE announcement described the inaugural event as headlined by Cena and Brock Lesnar.
