Jeremy Renner has said he accepts that recovery will remain part of his life after his January 2023 snowplow accident. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight published February 2, 2024, he put it this way: “Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man.”
What did Jeremy Renner say about lifelong recovery?
Renner’s comment was a personal reflection on his own ongoing recovery, not a medical prognosis. In the February 2024 Entertainment Tonight interview, he described recovery as something he expects to remain part of his life and said he looks forward to it.
In May 2024, Yahoo published syndicated PEOPLE coverage reporting that Renner had accepted being in recovery for the rest of his life. The report also described the recovery “label” as something that would remain. The available wording supports the central point, but the full PEOPLE interview is not reproduced in that syndicated report.
What was the context of his remark?
Reports place Renner’s ongoing recovery in the context of the snowplow accident in January 2023, which left him critically injured. Entertainment Tonight’s interview also addressed whether he was open to another Avengers film; the recovery comment is his own description of his experience, rather than a forecast about a return to work.
The May 23, 2024 Yahoo report of the PEOPLE interview and Entertainment Tonight’s February interview are separate reports, published several months apart. Both describe recovery as an ongoing part of Renner’s life.
Is Renner’s statement a medical prognosis?
No. It is his account of how he understands his own recovery. The interview coverage does not establish a general recovery timeline, a numerical recovery measure, or what another person with serious injuries should expect. It should not be read as medical advice or as a prediction about other survivors.

Where can readers hear more of Renner’s account?
Renner announced a memoir titled My Next Breath about the near-fatal accident and his recovery journey, according to CNA Lifestyle’s coverage. The memoir offers a longer first-person account; the interview reports are the sources for his remarks about recovery remaining part of his life.
Men’s Health’s profile also covers Renner’s account of his post-accident diet, workouts, and approach to health and wellness. It describes his own routine, not a treatment plan or recommendation for readers.
