Former two-time Jeopardy! winner Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena was arrested in North Carolina on December 1, 2025, on two felony secret peeping counts. He later pleaded guilty to both counts in July 2026 and received a reported 60-month probation sentence, according to WBTV/Gray News. WBTV also reported that he was not required to register as a sex offender.
What happened to Joey DeSena?
DeSena turned himself in and was arrested on December 1, 2025, according to WBTV’s December 10 report, which said the arrest followed a warrant dated November 26. The warrant, as summarized by WBTV, alleged that cameras had been placed in a bedroom and bathroom with the intent to capture another person’s image without consent. Those were allegations described in the arrest-era reporting; DeSena later pleaded guilty to both counts.
The Daily Beast, citing WAVY’s hearing coverage, additionally reported that a woman said she found two black USB wall chargers containing cameras in a Corolla rental home. That device detail comes from secondary reporting, not a directly reviewed warrant or court record.
