Jennifer Lopez wore a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown to the 2024 Met Gala. Vogue Japan reported that its hand embroidery involved more than 2.5 million beads and took 800 hours. Schiaparelli’s own description identifies the materials more precisely: warm silver pearls and rhinestones on illusion tulle.
What was Jennifer Lopez’s 2024 Met Gala dress?
It was a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture strapless sheath gown, not a documented off-the-rack design. Schiaparelli says the gown was made in illusion tulle and entirely embroidered with warm silver pearls and rhinestones. Schiaparelli’s description of the gown

The “silver beads” shorthand should not be read as a precise inventory of identical beads. Schiaparelli describes the embellishment as warm silver pearls and rhinestones, while Vogue Japan reports a bead count. The available descriptions do not establish that every component was a bugle bead.
