As Variety reported Lawrence’s account from the Cannes press conference, she said: “The day before our first day, Lynne showed Rob and I a scene from ‘If’ and these characters are attacking each other like tigers. And she said, ‘You’ll do it naked, yeah?’ And we’re like ‘Oh, OK,’ And that was the first day on set.”
What the “tigers” reference means
The tiger comparison describes the scene Ramsay showed them and the animalistic quality of the performance. It does not mean Lawrence and Pattinson had an actual fight. Lawrence discussed the moment in connection with a sex scene and what she described as the hardest day on set.
