What did the filing reportedly request?
According to ABC News’ account of the filing, it cited “irreconcilable differences,” asked the court to enforce the couple’s prenuptial agreement, and requested joint custody of their daughter. That legal phrase is the stated ground reported from the filing, not a detailed explanation from either person about why the marriage ended.

Who are Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires?
Isbell and Shires married in Nashville on February 23, 2013, according to ABC News; the Los Angeles Times also reported their 2013 marriage. Both are working musicians. Shires has performed with Isbell’s band, the 400 Unit, and is a member of The Highwomen.
The Los Angeles Times placed the couple’s history alongside Isbell’s 2020 album Reunions and the 2023 documentary Running With Our Eyes Closed. Those works provide artistic and biographical context, but they do not establish a private reason for the divorce.
