Charlie Davis finished Survivor 46 as runner-up to Kenzie Petty after reaching the final three. Before the season, he was a longtime fan who applied repeatedly; afterward, he spoke candidly about expecting a close result and trying to understand why jurors weighed the finalists differently. Paramount later announced him as a returning player for Survivor 50.
Who is Charlie Davis?
Paramount’s February 5, 2024 cast announcement listed Davis as 26, from Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, living in Boston, and a law student. Those are details from the announcement, not a statement of his current age or residence.

A Boston College Law School profile published February 7, 2024 described him as a Harvard graduate, a two-time cross-country team captain, a third-year law student, and a staff writer for the Boston College Law Review. Davis said, “I applied every year starting in 2020.” The profile reported that casting took about six months and involved interviews, IQ tests, and psychological evaluations; that duration describes his process, not an industry-wide average.
How did Davis become a Survivor contestant?
He was a fan before applying
In a pre-season Parade interview, Davis said he began watching during the pandemic, starting with Survivor: Winners at War. He recalled filming an early audition video in his basement at 3 a.m. with his cat, then continuing to apply in later years. He had also attended fan watch parties before he was cast.

That connection continued after he joined the show. At a local watch party, Davis told CBS Boston, “I was a fan before I was a player. I was coming to events like this. The community is amazing.”
What he hoped to bring from running
Davis connected his cross-country background to the physical and mental strain of the game. In the Boston College profile, he said, “Running is a really, really hard sport,” and hoped the experience of putting himself through discomfort would help him “keep lasting.”
How far did Charlie Davis get on Survivor 46?
Survivor 46 premiered on February 28, 2024, and its finale, “Friends Going to War,” aired May 22, according to CBS’s Season 46 episode guide. The Fiji-based season began with 18 new castaways and offered a $1 million prize to the Sole Survivor, as stated in Paramount’s cast announcement.
Davis made the final three alongside Kenzie Petty and Ben Katzman. Petty won; Davis was the runner-up. TVLine reported that he fell two votes short and that his close in-game ally, Maria Shrime Gonzalez, voted for Petty.

What did Davis say about the finale result?
In his post-finale TVLine interview, Davis described learning the result as painful: “It was brutal. It was really brutal to find that out at the after show and to have to process it in the moment was really tough.” He also said the outcome changed his friendship with Maria. That is Davis’s account of the immediate aftermath; it does not establish her motives for voting as she did.
In a separate Parade interview after the finale, Davis said he had believed he might narrowly win. He recalled interpreting Maria’s nod during a brief jury discussion as a sign that she would vote for him. Looking back, he felt that jurors who prioritized control, strategic gameplay, and determining vote-outs tended to credit him, while others valued different aspects of the finalists’ games. Those are Davis’s interpretations of how the jury evaluated the season, not an objective explanation of each juror’s decision.
Is Charlie Davis returning to Survivor?
Yes. In its May 28, 2025 announcement, Paramount listed “CHARLIE DAVIS: Season 46” among the 24 returning players for Survivor 50. The announcement said the season was planned to premiere in spring 2026. It confirms his casting, not his later episode results or placement.
