In a September 2020 interview with People CHICA, Jasmine V said motherhood had changed both her priorities and the music she hoped to make. She had planned an EP and music videos that year, but the pandemic disrupted those plans. She also spoke candidly about balancing life with two young children, recovering from postpartum depression and the family traditions she wanted to pass on.
How motherhood shaped Jasmine V’s plans for new music
Jasmine V told People CHICA that she had been recording songs and planning music videos for an EP intended for release in 2020. The pandemic changed that schedule. “This year I was supposed to release an EP. I was recording songs and planning music videos, so when the pandemic hit that changed my whole plan.”
She described the delay as difficult, but also as a period of artistic growth: “It pushed back a lot for me, but I was able to grow as an artist and now being a mother of two.” Her stated aim was to make music that reflected a different point in her life and the responsibilities that came with motherhood—not the perspective she had at 16 or 21.
Those comments describe her intentions in 2020; they do not establish that the planned EP was later released. Apple Music’s artist catalog lists “Real You” and “Lessons” as 2020 singles, but that catalog listing does not confirm an EP. View Jasmine Villegas on Apple Music.

The People CHICA interview captures Jasmine V’s plans and reflections at a particular moment in 2020. It establishes what she hoped to create and how she said motherhood was influencing her artistic outlook, but it does not document the eventual release of the planned EP or make claims about the themes of every later song. A separate iHeart catalog page lists later music, including an August 2026 release, but it is a third-party listing and does not by itself confirm the artist’s current career or identity behind every entry.
