Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot three times in Las Vegas on October 15, 2024, according to an account he shared two days later. His representative initially said Lee was conscious and expected to recover, but those were statements from 2024—not an update on his health today.
What happened to Jake E. Lee?
Las Vegas police said a shooting victim was shot at about 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, and taken to a hospital. The Associated Press placed the incident in a neighborhood about 10 miles (16 kilometers) south of the Strip. The Los Angeles Times reported that officers responded at 2:42 a.m. in the 11000 block of Alora Street.
Lee’s representative said he had been walking his dog and characterized the shooting as “completely random.” That was the representative’s description; the sources do not establish a motive. Lee later said his dog, Coco, was fine.
How many times was he shot, and what injuries did he describe?
In a statement shared with fans on October 17 and reported by the Los Angeles Times the following day, Lee said, “To clarify, I was shot three times.” He described wounds to his forearm and foot, and said a shot to his back broke a rib and damaged a lung. Lee said the immediate priority was draining his lung.
