Dr. Sharon Goodwin’s stabbing is the fall-finale cliffhanger at the center of Chicago Med’s follow-up. In an indexed listing for a Collider story, Steven Weber—who plays Dr. Dean Archer—describes the aftermath as “like a horror movie” and says Archer’s military instincts take over when he finds Goodwin in danger. That is Weber’s characterization, not a confirmed account of everything the next episode contains.

What happens after Goodwin is stabbed?

The indexed summary says Archer encounters the aftermath of Goodwin’s stabbing and reacts when he sees her in danger. It frames the fall finale as the setup for the rescue and its consequences, rather than providing a complete account of what happens next. The IMDb news index identifies Collider as the original publisher, but the original story was not directly available for review.

Weber also recalled a rescue moment in which he lifted Goodwin’s actor, S. Epatha Merkerson, and carried her into an elevator before entering the emergency room. He discussed the sequence on the One Chicago Podcast. His recollection offers a glimpse of the scene’s physical action, but it does not establish the full plot or outcome.

Why does Weber call the follow-up “like a horror movie”?

The indexed Collider summary attributes the phrase “It’s like a horror movie” to Weber. In context, it is an actor’s description of the follow-up’s tense aftermath, not a claim that Chicago Med has changed genres or a spoiler about the episode’s events. Because the original Collider page was not directly reviewed, the attribution is best treated as reported wording rather than independently verified interview text.

The same summary connects Archer’s response to his military instincts. That is Weber’s description of how the character reacts when he finds Goodwin—not an independently confirmed account of the character’s training or a detailed explanation of the rescue.

How the stabbing fits the earlier threat against Goodwin

The stabbing follows an earlier escalation in season 10, episode 5, but the two incidents are distinct. A Just Jared recap published November 5, 2024, describes Goodwin encountering a masked figure at home. The figure turns out to be a neighborhood teen in a Halloween incident, while Goodwin remains convinced someone had been inside. That recap concerns the earlier threat, not the later stabbing.

Taken together, the available accounts establish a progression from Goodwin’s unease about a possible intrusion to a fall-finale cliffhanger involving a stalker and a stabbing. They do not provide enough verified detail to explain the stalker’s identity, the full circumstances of the attack, or what ultimately happens to Goodwin.
