The finale arrived December 31 in the Americas, but January 1, 2026, in Europe and several other regions. Netflix’s published schedule confirms those dates; the official sources cited here do not verify the “recent reporting of delays” referenced in the original headline.
Did Stranger Things Season 5 come out in 2025?
Yes. Netflix’s schedule lists the fifth and final season as a three-part release, with each volume arriving at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The release dates were November 26, December 25, and December 31, 2025, in the Americas. Because the release time fell on the next calendar day in many other regions, Netflix lists November 27, December 26, and January 1, 2026, for Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania groupings. Netflix’s schedule provides country lists under its regional headings, so check those lists for a specific country rather than assuming every country in a broad region shares a date.
Release schedule by region
| Region listed by Netflix | Volume 1 | Volume 2 | Finale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Americas | November 26, 2025 | December 25, 2025 | December 31, 2025 |
| Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania groupings | November 27, 2025 | December 26, 2025 | January 1, 2026 |
Netflix’s Media Center describes the rollout as four episodes on November 26, three on Christmas, and the finale on New Year’s Eve, all at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The regional calendar difference reflects the release time, not a separately announced delay for those regions. Netflix Media Center
Was the season delayed?
The official Netflix schedule establishes when the episodes were released, but it does not confirm the delay reports alluded to in the original headline. Without the originating report, its claims, timing, and basis cannot be evaluated here. The most that can be established from the cited official material is the final schedule Netflix published: a three-volume rollout beginning in November 2025 and concluding across the December 31/January 1 regional boundary.

What is the final season about?
Netflix’s spoiler-light setup places the story in fall 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and the group is united in its search for Vecna. A military quarantine and a renewed hunt for Eleven force her into hiding as the anniversary of Will Byers’s disappearance approaches. Netflix identifies Matt and Ross Duffer, the Duffer Brothers, as the series’ creators. Netflix Media Center
Ross Duffer described some story questions as deliberately held back for the final season: “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5,” he said. Netflix Tudum
