Paramount’s catalog lists Seasons 1–5B, totaling 53 episodes, and the network described Season 5B as the show’s final episodes. That does not mean every Dutton story is over: Marshals and Dutton Ranch continue the franchise, while a sixth season of the original series is not confirmed in the available official material.
Is Yellowstone ending?
The flagship series concluded with Season 5. Paramount’s official catalog lists the complete run as Seasons 1–5B and 53 episodes, and Paramount’s 2024 announcement called the Season 5B episodes the final episodes. The Associated Press likewise described the fifth season as the final season.
So the precise answer is that the original television series is finished. “The Yellowstone universe is ending” is too broad, because new shows continue stories connected to the Dutton family.
Is Yellowstone coming back for season 6?
Season 6 is not confirmed in the official material cited here. Paramount’s catalog lists Seasons 1–5B and does not list a sixth season. That catalog is not proof that a later announcement could never appear, so the careful wording is that no Season 6 has been confirmed in the available information—not that a future announcement has been definitively ruled out.

What is the Yellowstone spinoff?
There is not one single spinoff. Several projects use the Yellowstone name or expand the Dutton story, and they differ in setting, characters and time period.
| Series | Characters or focus | Story position | Availability or status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marshals | Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes | Continues Kayce’s story after the original finale | Premiered on CBS and streams on Paramount+; availability can vary by country |
| Dutton Ranch | Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, played by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser | Continues the present-day Dutton storyline | Paramount+ announced a nine-episode first season premiering May 15, 2026; check local availability |
| 6666 | The Four Sixes ranch in Texas | Planned contemporary ranch story | Taylor Sheridan said the series would not go ahead |
| 1932 | A new generation of Duttons in the past | Historical origin story | Paramount ordered it in February 2022, but that announcement does not establish its current production or release status |
Are Beth and Rip getting a spinoff?
Yes. Dutton Ranch brings Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler back, with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles. Paramount announced a nine-episode first season for Paramount+, with a premiere date of May 15, 2026.
This is a continuation of the present-day story rather than another historical prequel. Streaming access, launch timing and episode availability may differ outside the markets covered by Paramount’s announcement.

Is 6666 still happening?
No. Taylor Sheridan said the previously planned 6666 series would not proceed. In a statement reported by RTÉ on August 20, 2026, Sheridan said: “There’s never going to be one. I would never fictionalise that ranch.” He explained that the Four Sixes is an active ranch where real people work and raise families.

What is the status of 1932?
Paramount announced in February 2022 that it had ordered 1932, an origin-story series about another generation of Duttons. That historical order confirms the project was announced, but it does not verify current filming, a release date or whether the plan remains active. It should not be presented as an imminent premiere without a newer official update.

Choose Marshals for Kayce’s continuation
If your main question is what happened to Kayce after the finale, Marshals is the relevant follow-up. It keeps the story in the present day and centers on a character from the original cast.
Choose Dutton Ranch for Beth and Rip
If Beth and Rip are the characters you most want to follow, Dutton Ranch is the announced continuation built around them. Its first season is associated with Paramount+.

Wait for verified news on historical projects
1932 has an older order announcement but no current release status established here. 6666 should not be treated as an upcoming series because Sheridan said it would not be made.
The bottom line on Yellowstone’s future
Yellowstone itself ended with Season 5, and there is no confirmed Season 6 in the official listing and statements covered here. The franchise continues through Marshals and Dutton Ranch, while 6666 has been abandoned and 1932 remains historically announced but currently unverified.
