No evidence shows that Tom Sandoval is leaving reality television for good. He has a 2026 scripted movie credit in Home Makeover Nightmare, but he also appeared on reality competition series House of Villains and has said he is open to potentially joining The Valley. What has ended is his run with the original Vanderpump Rules cast, not necessarily his reality-TV career.
What is Tom Sandoval’s latest movie role?
TV Insider lists Sandoval as playing Billy in the 2026 thriller Home Makeover Nightmare, and Apple’s catalog also identifies the film as a 2026 release. TV Insider’s listing and Apple’s listing establish the movie credit; they do not establish a permanent move away from unscripted television.
Is he still involved in reality TV?
Yes. TMZ reported that Sandoval appeared in season 3 of House of Villains. The appearance is a concrete reality-TV credit, distinct from his scripted part in Home Makeover Nightmare. TMZ’s report also said he was open to watching the retooled Vanderpump Rules, while attributing his earlier reluctance to feeling shell-shocked by the fallout from the scandal.
What has Sandoval said about joining The Valley?
March 2026: open to the possibility, but no cast offer reported
In a March interview with Us Weekly, Sandoval said he had gone back and forth about the idea and was open to “something” depending on where he was in life and what was happening. He also said he had been approached about a quick cameo, not asked to join the cast. That was an expression of openness, not a casting announcement. Us Weekly’s March 2026 report gives the context.

September 2026: still open, with privacy in mind
In September, Sandoval again said, “I mean, I think I would be open to it,” referring to potentially joining The Valley. He also said, “I like my privacy.” The interview reported a possibility, not confirmed participation. Us Weekly’s September 2026 report includes both remarks.
Why did he leave Vanderpump Rules?
The original Vanderpump Rules run ended after 11 seasons. Bravo’s December 2025 coverage of season 12 described a new group replacing Sandoval and the previous cast; season 12 was streaming on Peacock at the time of that report. This was a change in the show’s cast and format, not proof that Sandoval had quit reality television as a whole. Bravo’s season 12 coverage also quotes Sandoval telling the new cast, “All I can say is just keep it real.”

Movie acting and reality TV are separate career tracks
A scripted film role is evidence that Sandoval has an acting credit; a reality competition appearance is evidence that he has continued to take unscripted work. His stated interest in The Valley sits between those confirmed credits: he has expressed openness, but the cited reports do not confirm that he joined the cast. Taken together, the available evidence supports a narrower conclusion than “leaving reality TV for good”: he is no longer part of the original Vanderpump Rules cast, while his broader reality-TV future remains unsettled.
