That is the latest status established by the available reports—not confirmation that the car is still there, that its restoration was completed, or that it remains roadworthy in October 2026.
Which Tokyo Drift S15 was reported surviving?
The surviving car in question is a production stunt vehicle, not the fate of the Silvia in the film’s story. Caradisiac reported on 26 March 2020 that one of the film’s S15 stunt cars was at Garage du Buëch in France and was being restored. Grand Tourisme Import, which said it sourced the car for a client, also described the restoration beginning on 30 March 2020.
Caradisiac reported that four S15 stunt cars were assembled for the film, with two destroyed and two then described as remaining roadworthy. Grand Tourisme Import likewise said four Silvias were made and two destroyed. Those are outlet-reported counts, not an independently verified inventory of every picture car or replica. The reports establish the status of a particular car at that time, not its whereabouts or condition now. Caradisiac’s March 2020 report and Grand Tourisme Import’s account document the restoration news.
Is it the S15 Sean wrecks in the movie?
Not necessarily. The movie’s story shows Sean damaging a borrowed Silvia S15 in his first race, then later driving an S15 Spec-R. A fan-maintained vehicle entry distinguishes the damaged story car as a Spec-S from the later Spec-R. That reference describes fictional continuity; it is not a production record linking either appearance to the surviving stunt car in France. The film’s different S15 appearances should not be assumed to show one physical car throughout. See the fan-maintained Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R entry for that story distinction.

What was under the hood of the surviving stunt car?
The movie depicts an RB26 Nissan GT-R engine, but Caradisiac reported that the particular stunt car it covered did not have that engine. The outlet described it, like the other S15 stunt cars made for the film, as using a naturally aspirated engine rated at about 200 horsepower. This is a report about the car’s actual configuration, not the build shown on screen; it should not be generalized to every S15 associated with the production.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you buy the actual car or a replica?
The 2020 reports do not establish that the surviving car is for sale, and they provide no verified current ownership or location. A die-cast Tokyo Drift Nissan Silvia S15 is a separate kind of collectible, not the production vehicle. Before buying one, check the listing’s live stock, scale, seller and licensing; a retailer result alone does not confirm those details.
