Peacock lists all eight episodes in one season, making it a straightforward binge for viewers drawn to eerie mysteries and family drama. Whether it works for you may depend on how much you value atmosphere and pace over polished dialogue and deep characterization.
What is Teacup about?
Strange events begin on the Chenoweths’ farm in rural Georgia. As the danger grows, the family and their neighbors have to band together against a mysterious, deadly threat. The premise keeps the nature of that threat under wraps, so it is best approached without seeking out plot revelations.
The show blends horror, mystery, thriller, science fiction, and family drama. Executive producer James Wan described it as a genre-bending mixture of horror, mystery, and drama whose layers unfold like a puzzle, in Peacock’s announcement of September 23, 2024. Read Peacock’s announcement.
Is Teacup binge-worthy?
It is a natural choice for a short horror binge if you enjoy an isolated setting, mounting dread, and a mystery that keeps unfolding. TV Guide praised the show’s pace, atmosphere, and engaging central mystery, while also criticizing some awkward dialogue and thinly drawn characters. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a guarantee that every viewer will respond the same way. Read TV Guide’s review.

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
In practical terms, expect a focused, mystery-led series with family drama rather than a character study in which every relationship receives extensive development. The atmosphere and forward momentum may be the main draw; viewers who need consistently sharp dialogue or richly developed characters may find those elements less satisfying.
How many episodes and seasons does it have?
As of October 8, 2026, Peacock’s series page lists one season and all eight episodes. The listed episode runtimes range from 31 to 51 minutes. TV Guide describes the season as eight half-hour episodes, though Peacock’s episode listings show that individual runtimes vary. See Peacock’s current episode listing.

Where can you watch Teacup?
Peacock currently lists Teacup for streaming on its service. That listing is Peacock-specific; availability can vary by territory and may change, so check the service where you live before planning a watch.
Is Teacup based on a book?
Yes. Peacock identifies Robert McCammon’s novel Stinger as the inspiration. Tom’s Guide characterizes the connection as loose, so the series should not be treated as a faithful screen adaptation or as a story that requires reading the novel first. If you want to explore the source material, Stinger is an optional related read. Read Tom’s Guide’s review.
