Yes. BioWare confirmed in November 2025 that the next Mass Effect game was in development. The studio’s staffing updates describe a focused team and colleagues moving to other EA roles, but they do not establish a release date, final title, platforms, or that the game has entered full production.
What BioWare has confirmed about the next Mass Effect
On November 7, 2025, executive producer Mike Gamble wrote that “the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe.” He added that the team was “heads-down and focused exclusively on Mass Effect.” BioWare’s November 2025 statement
That is an official confirmation that development continues. It is not confirmation that the game has reached full production: Gamble said the team would show the project when it was ready, and the statement did not give a schedule.
What the BioWare staffing updates say
January 2025: a core team and transfers to other EA teams
On January 29, 2025, BioWare general manager Gary McKay said a core team led by veterans of the original trilogy was developing the next game. He wrote, “Given this stage of development, we don’t require support from the full studio.” BioWare also said it had matched many colleagues with open roles on other EA teams. The update did not state how many people were laid off, transferred, or departed. BioWare’s January 2025 statement

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
August 2023: a separate restructuring
BioWare said on August 23, 2023, that it was “eliminating approximately 50 roles at BioWare.” The same statement said a core veteran team led by Gamble continued pre-production on the next Mass Effect. That figure applies to the 2023 restructuring; it should not be treated as a count of the January 2025 staffing changes. BioWare’s August 2023 statement
What the 2026 comment adds—and what it doesn’t
GamesRadar reported that on April 22, 2026, Gamble replied to a fan’s question about the lack of news since November with “Just busy workin’” and “Not a lot of time for tease.” This was a social-media exchange reported by a secondary source, not a formal BioWare development announcement. It indicates that Gamble said work was continuing, but does not reveal a milestone, schedule, or new game details. GamesRadar’s report
