A report published April 25, 2025, said Ticketmaster seat maps appeared to show unsold seats for upcoming Katy Perry shows in Houston and Minneapolis. But those maps were snapshots, not final ticket-sales or attendance figures, and the report itself said concerns about sales predated Perry’s Blue Origin flight. The available evidence does not establish that the flight caused weak demand—or that the tour as a whole was struggling.
What did the ticket-sales report actually show?
Futurism’s Noor Al-Sibai reported on April 25, 2025, that Ticketmaster maps for upcoming Houston and Minneapolis dates appeared to show unsold seats. The article also quoted an unnamed source who said there were concerns about sales before Perry flew on Blue Origin’s New Shepard. Read Futurism’s report.
That is evidence of an early impression, not a final count. Seat maps show availability at a particular moment; they do not, by themselves, establish how many tickets were ultimately sold or how many people attended. The report’s map-based estimates should not be treated as final box-office figures.
Did the Blue Origin flight hurt ticket sales?
There is no evidence in the reported figures that establishes a causal link. The report’s unnamed source said sales concerns existed before the flight, so the chronology in the headline should not be read as proof that the flight caused the apparent availability. Futurism’s account was not a complete sales audit, and it did not provide independently verified final attendance or gross figures for the U.S. dates.

What happened on Katy Perry’s Blue Origin flight?
On April 14, 2025, Perry flew aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard with Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn. The Associated Press reported that the automated trip from West Texas lasted about 10 minutes, reached 66 miles (107 kilometers), and included a few minutes of weightlessness. Blue Origin did not state what the flight cost or who paid. The Associated Press has the flight details.
Was the tour selling well elsewhere?
The available announcements present a mixed, geographically distinct picture. In January 2025, Live Nation described the U.S. leg as support for Perry’s album 143 and said shows had sold out or additional dates had been added in several regions, including Australia, Canada, and parts of Europe and South America. Those are promoter claims about markets outside the U.S.; they do not establish how U.S. dates performed. Live Nation’s announcement also ties the tour to the album.

In a separate July 2025 announcement, Avex said Perry’s December 3 show in Japan had sold out and a second date was added for December 4. That is evidence of demand for those Japan dates, not a measure of the U.S. leg. Avex’s Japan announcement.
