Yes. Fox McCloud, the Star Fox character, appears in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. A promotional poster revealed his inclusion, and Nintendo later connected the film character to its announced Star Fox game. The available sources do not establish Fox’s role in the story or how much screen time he has.
How Fox McCloud’s appearance was confirmed
Fox appeared in promotional material for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. GamesRadar reported on the poster reveal and identified Glen Powell as Fox’s voice actor; that casting detail comes from the outlet’s report, not Nintendo’s March 10 cast announcement. GamesRadar’s report on Fox McCloud’s reveal gives the available attribution.
Nintendo’s official movie page hosts the final trailer and posters. Its March 10 announcement describes the film as an animated movie based on the world of Super Mario Bros., following The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Fox’s appearance makes this a Mario-centered movie featuring a Star Fox character, not a standalone Star Fox film.
What Nintendo’s cast announcement does—and doesn’t—say
Nintendo’s March 10, 2026 release names Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Donald Glover as Yoshi, Issa Rae as Honey Queen, Luis Guzmán as Wart, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Brie Larson as Rosalina. That announcement predates Fox’s poster reveal, so its cast list should not be treated as a complete accounting of the film’s characters or performers.

Movie dates vary by region
Nintendo lists April 1, 2026 as the US theatrical date. Its March 10 release gives April 24, 2026 for Japan and says select territories release throughout April, so there is no single worldwide date to apply to every market. The film’s official Nintendo page provides the US listing.
Nintendo linked the movie character to a separate Star Fox game
In its May 2026 investor presentation, Nintendo listed a Star Fox title for Nintendo Switch 2, planned for June 25, 2026. The presentation says the game and a Yoshi title each feature a character who appears in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. This is a separate game announcement; the presentation’s planned date is not evidence here of current retail availability or format. Nintendo’s May 2026 investor presentation provides the announcement.

Box-office figure: first four weeks, not lifetime total
Nintendo’s May 2026 investor presentation reports more than $800 million USD in worldwide box-office revenue during the film’s first four weeks. That is a period-specific figure attributed to Nintendo, not a lifetime gross or a Fox-specific measure. The reviewed official sources do not provide Fox’s screen time, audience response, or trailer-view count. The presentation’s box-office figure is the source.
