No Shameless spin-off has been confirmed in the coverage reviewed through May 13, 2025. Comments from creator John Wells and actors Emma Kenney and Shanola Hampton have fueled interest in a continuation, but they describe creative enthusiasm, personal hope or a hypothetical idea—not a commissioned series.
Is there a Shameless spin-off?
There is no confirmed spin-off or revival established by the available reports. They do not identify a greenlit project, format, cast, release date, network or production schedule. That means fans can discuss what a continuation might look like, but the discussion is not evidence that a show is in development.
This conclusion is limited to the coverage cited here, which runs through May 13, 2025; it is not proof that no announcement has appeared elsewhere since then.
What have the creator and cast said?
John Wells said he could have continued making the show
In a January 31, 2025 interview with TV Insider, creator and executive producer John Wells reflected that he could have made Shameless for another 15 years. The comment conveys his retrospective enthusiasm for the series; it does not report that a revival was ordered.

Emma Kenney said The Conners gave her hope
In a January 19, 2025 report, Us Weekly described Emma Kenney as having more hope for a Shameless revival after working on The Conners. That is Kenney’s perspective, not confirmation of talks, a deal or a production plan.
Shanola Hampton discussed a possible show with Steve Howey
An iHeart podcast page dated May 13, 2025 says Shanola Hampton discussed what a potential spin-off with Steve Howey might look like. The description presents a hypothetical conversation; it does not announce a greenlight or confirm either actor’s participation in a new series.

Do the finale’s story ideas point to a spin-off?
No. A 2021 TVLine interview republished by Yahoo Entertainment reported an earlier story direction in which Carl would buy the bar from Kev and V, with Debbie working behind the counter. That abandoned or earlier narrative possibility can suggest one way the story might have continued, but it is not evidence of an active production plan.

The reports point to different kinds of possibility, not competing confirmed projects. Wells’s remarks and Kenney’s hope concern the prospect of continuing Shameless; Hampton’s podcast discussion concerns a hypothetical spin-off with Howey. None establishes whether a future project would bring back the Gallagher ensemble, focus on particular characters or take another form.
