Sting and Trudie Styler’s Wiltshire home is Lake House, a sixteenth-century property in Wilsford cum Lake. The title’s $8.6 million figure is not substantiated by the available sources. A secondary property-history page reported a £13 million asking price for the house with 60 acres in 2025; that is not evidence of a completed sale or an independently verified valuation.
Where is Lake House?
Lake House, also known as the Manor of Lake, is in the Wiltshire village of Wilsford cum Lake. Wiltshire Council’s community history says Sting, whose given name is Gordon Sumner, and Trudie Styler bought the property in the early 1990s. The council says it has since been run as an organic farm. Wiltshire Council’s local history
What is known about the house’s history?
Historic England dates the house to 1578 and identifies its builder as George Duke, a wealthy clothier. The registered site includes an early-twentieth-century garden and a small park whose origins date to the early or mid-eighteenth century. Historic England also notes a 1752 estate plan, historic walled gardens and avenues. Historic England’s register entry
Fires and restoration
A fire severely damaged the house in 1838. In the late nineteenth century, architect Detmar Blow restored it in consultation with Philip Webb and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. After another fire in 1912, Blow restored and partly rebuilt the house. The property was altered and extended in the early twentieth century, according to Historic England’s record. How is the house connected to Sting and Trudie Styler?
Wiltshire Council records two cultural connections beyond the couple’s ownership: Sting recorded the album Ten Summoner’s Tales at the property, and Styler published The Lake House Cookbook, which includes photographs and information about the house. The cookbook documents aspects of the home, but it does not imply public access to the private property. Wiltshire Council’s local history

The available sources do not establish $8.6 million as Lake House’s current value—or as a verified past sale price. A secondary page, The DiCamillo Companion, reported that the house with 60 acres was being offered for £13 million in 2025. That figure is a reported asking price, not a confirmed transaction or formal appraisal. The DiCamillo Companion’s property-history page
A 2003 interview with Sting, reproduced on his official website from The Daily Telegraph, described a Wiltshire mansion with 800 acres. That is a historical description from the interview, not confirmation of the current acreage associated with Lake House or the property described in the 2025 asking-price report.
