Simon Cowell’s reported $24 million home is a gated, bluff-top estate in Malibu, with a one-story contemporary house, ocean views, gardens, a pool and a lighted tennis court. The Los Angeles Times reported the purchase in 2017; that figure is a historical sale price, not a current valuation.
Which Simon Cowell home is this?
The mansion is Cowell’s Malibu compound, not his separate Beverly Hills property. In a December 11, 2017 report, the Los Angeles Times said Cowell paid $24 million for the gated estate. The report establishes a past purchase, not the home’s current ownership or market value.

Cowell’s Trousdale Estates home in Beverly Hills is a different property. The Los Angeles Times reported in 2013 that he had bought that house for $15.5 million and was then offering it for around $20 million. Its reported four bedrooms and 7,265 square feet belong to the Beverly Hills home, not the Malibu mansion.
What the Malibu estate looks like
The Los Angeles Times described the property as nearly two acres on a bluff, reached by a gated, tree-lined drive. Expansive lawns and formal landscaping frame the house, while the grounds include a swimming pool, koi pond and lighted tennis court. The estate was also reported to have ocean views and multiple outdoor areas for entertaining.

Inside the one-story house
The main house was reported as a contemporary-style home built in 1988, with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and more than 8,600 square feet of living space. The article described Beaumaniere and dark wood floors, Venetian plaster walls, high ceilings and large skylights.
Five fireplaces were reported throughout the house, including two in the master suite. These are details from the 2017 property reporting, not a current inspection or a first-person tour of the interior.

How the $24 million price fits the listing history
The estate had previously been listed at $29.95 million and later at $26.995 million before the reported $24 million sale. These were historical asking prices; they are not current listings or present-day valuations.
| Reported figure | What it describes |
|---|---|
| $29.95 million | Earlier asking price reported by the Los Angeles Times in 2017; not the sale price. |
| $26.995 million | Later asking price reported before the transaction; not the sale price. |
| $24 million | Purchase price Cowell reportedly paid, according to the Los Angeles Times in 2017. |
What the reporting does—and does not—establish
The available reporting documents the estate’s reported features and the 2017 transaction. It does not establish the home’s present condition, any renovations after the purchase, current ownership or current value. A 2020 Los Angeles Times follow-up refers to the $24 million amount as a past purchase, but does not turn it into a current valuation.
