There is no reliable public evidence establishing that Céline Dion owns or operates a specific Bombardier Global Express XRS, or that she paid $42 million for one. That price appears in secondary reporting as an approximate value “when new,” but its basis and date are not established. What can be described with more confidence is the aircraft model: the XRS is an upgraded version of Bombardier’s long-range Global Express, with a published model range of 6,305 nautical miles.
What is known about Céline Dion and the aircraft claim?
The headline’s ownership and price claims should be treated as unverified. The available material does not establish an aircraft registration, purchase date, transaction, or other primary record connecting Dion to a particular Global Express XRS. JetAtlas reports a figure of around $42 million “when new,” but provides no established basis or date for that valuation. It is not evidence that Dion paid that amount.
No attributable statement from Dion, Bombardier, a regulator, or another named authority confirming ownership or operation of a specific XRS is available in the sources cited here. Accordingly, the aircraft’s configuration and history cannot responsibly be described as hers.
What is the Bombardier Global Express XRS?
The XRS is an improved version of Bombardier’s original Global Express, an ultra-long-range corporate jet. Jetcraft’s model overview describes the XRS as offering higher cruise speed, increased range, and an improved cabin layout and lighting compared with the original model. These are model-level distinctions, not specifications verified for an aircraft associated with Dion.

Jetcraft reported a range of 6,305 nautical miles for the XRS in a 2014 overview describing the market as of July 2013. That published figure helps convey the model’s long-range design; it is not a guarantee of a particular trip or aircraft’s real-world range, which can depend on configuration and operating conditions.
How does the XRS relate to the original Global Express?
The XRS followed Bombardier’s original BD-700 Global Express. AOPA’s historical overview reports 148 deliveries of the original BD-700 from 1999 through 2005. That total applies to the original Global Express, not to the XRS and not to any aircraft linked to Dion.

What might an XRS cabin include?
There is no substantiated description of the cabin or equipment of a Global Express XRS owned or operated by Dion. A 2012 Aircraft.com listing illustrates how an individual aircraft can be configured: that listing described Rolls-Royce BR700-710A2-20 engines, Honeywell 2000 XP avionics, and a 12/13-passenger interior, along with cabin and entertainment equipment. Those details belong to the listed aircraft only; they should not be transferred to Dion.
The example is a useful reminder that a model name does not identify a single interior, passenger layout, or equipment package. A listing documents one offered aircraft, not the specification of every XRS.

What does the $42 million figure mean?
JetAtlas is the source for the approximate “$42 million when new” figure, but the available account does not establish the date, valuation method, or transaction behind it. Treat it as secondary reporting, not a confirmed purchase price, current market value, or amount paid by Dion. The evidence here does not support a more precise valuation.
